Current USA recall

the elecrtic is terriable..
i plugged in the actinic light and got shocked by the daylight light that wasnt pluged in ( i grabed the plug by the metle) im not worried about it but it did **** me off

I have a Current USA Satellite Fixture and LOVE IT! Works like a charm! Never been shocked, but that is because I know better than to work on elctrical sockets when the blallasts are plugged in! Who loves common sense?!!??!!??

LMAO!! Exactly! Quote of the day. Try unplugging it first. I love common sense! I have a 520W Orbit extreme and I love it. No problems whatsoever with the power off. :lmao:

As a dealer of theirs for several years on any warranty issues they are near impossible to get replacements.

I had to get the owner on the phone and he don't follow thru.

I had to loan the customer a light pending the issue for 9 weeks.

Now I still sell then on request but not recomendation

Can anyone direct me to a website where I can get more info on this? I'm just about to buy one of their products. Thanks

check everything youbuy over thuroughly, you may just find something made in the USA.

Slightly unrelated but a few years ago Sorrel boots were made in both Canada and Korea, and the Koreans were skimping on insulation so you had to pay close attention when you were buying boots so you wouldn't be cold.

I had a problem with a ballest and they sent a new one out asap no questions asked. Thier light is one of the best things I've ever bought.

I agree, I am about to buy one of their HQI setups to add to my Satellite Double.

I have a CUSA 4x65W Extreme. I love it. I have them on PowerCenter timers. Plug and play, baby. No shocks, no nothing. Just plain beautiful.

One advice, you will get shocked at ANYTHING plugged because there's this thing called electricity that will jolt you. However, if an electrical appliance is unplugged, there's a good chance that no electricity will be running through it.

Just kidding.

CUSA is, in my opinion, an affordable way for starter reefers to have a decent dual daylight, dual actinics, and white moon light.

They should recall all their products! Every set of lights i ever bought from them i have gotten shocked from! i finallu pulled their fixtures apart and mounted them in a canopy!

I have had one for 3 years with no problems. I have been shocked and its not fun! Most problems aare caused by the operator not the product that is UL listed as safe.

Salt creep will carry an electrical current.

NEVER remove a ground probe

Light covers are there for a reason. Just clean them monthly you bum!

If that don't fix it, check your house wireing for errors. HD sells aan outlet tester for about $4. It will test your positive, neutral, and ground. They even make one with a GFI test button. Very handy because I have fixed some shady work in my field.

be safe,

Nathan

FWIW, I have two 36" Orbit, 1 24" Dual Satellite and 1 20" Dual Satellite and I've never had a problem other than salt creep. The company may deliver horrible service or fail to follow through on commitments or even be American-hating, foreign-sourcing psychos for all I know -- but their products have worked beautifully for me.

:>

(and Bugs Nathan -- congrats for being real! You gotta keep your equipment clean. Otherwise, c'mon guys, it's massive voltage in close proximity to huge quantities of saltwater! Doesn't take a rocket scientist....)

:smokin:

I was considering one of their 36 inch HQI hoods, is there anything better anyone can recommend in that price range?
