Cutting hole in a mirror

Any of our experienced glass cutters here ever try it on a mirror? I have a side view mirror my my bicycle and the kick stand failed me yesterday and the mirror shattered. I got a replacement but I figure if I could get someone to cut a new round mirror for me with a saw I could have a backup or sell off the old one to someone else.

They sell a special tool for glass. I am assuming it would work with Mirror as well. Look for diamond tip type of tools

Wouldn't the mirrored coating on the backside of the glass get ruined once the saw blade hit it?!?

I think the coating would only be ruined where the saw cuts, not sure though. Looking to garbage pick some mirror to try one of these days.
