Cutting ORA frag plug???

So I have a bunch of new ORA frags on their original black plug/plate. My problem is that these plugs are sort of big and don't mount very well onto my existing rockwork. I was curious if I could cut the plug in half to make them shorter? Has anyone done this? I tried using a razorblade to cut through the plug but its pretty solid. Anyone have any advice for the best way to do this?

dremel with cutting attachment. cuts thru them like butter. I cut just about all my ora plugs so I can mount them flush.

seriously...cuts them like butter

btw...I really don't understand why ORA uses such GIGANTIC plugs. fish headz seems to use giant bases as well. I could understand the size of them if they were selling colonies. but for frags...come on guys

Ok so it sounds like I need to buy a dremel. lol. Thanks for the replies. Im sure I will get a bunch of use out of it for more than just cutting frag plugs.

or you can use pliers of a vice to pop the frag right of the plug. simply squeeze the top of the plug where it is widest and that will break the glue inside, allowing you to pop it right out. the encrusting usually comes right off the top too.

i always cut the frag about 1/4 inch up from the base of the plug, mount the frag where i want and put the frag plug in the rack to start growing a new frag

Dremmel or pliers depending on encrusting works for me. While I despise them the one good thing about them (I am told) is that nuisance algae doesn't grow on them. Not sure about that though.

i can attest to that. when concrete plugs have algae on them ORA plugs appear to be clean.
