Cyano problem, Chemi-clean worked

I've been struggling with a Cyano problem for a few months now, so I finally broke down and got some Boyd Chemi Clean. The Cyano is almost all gone with 48 hrs! No ill effects on corals, fish, linka starfish or shrimp. I was really impressed.

It's important to use an airstone in the display and take the skimmer off line for 2 days then proceed with 20% wc.

I ordered Spectrapure MaxCap DI add on (with Silica Buster) to help prevent future outbreaks.

I've been battling this as well. I am going to try red legged hermits as I've read several sources that say they actually eat cyano.

It is best to tackle cyano at the source, chemi clean can be hazardous. Glad to see you had good results. The Di will go along way to helping the cyano problem.
