Cycle finally done.
amonia 0
nitrite 0
nitrate 0
ph 8.2
sg 1.025
temp 78
Thanks for all the help over the last two months.
Now for the questions:
Do the all mighty reefcentral forum gurus give me permission to add a clean up crew?
Thinking of the 150 package from saltwaterfish.com
Can I buy 2 percula clowns?
Thats all for now. Promise.
:D

i would drop the SG to 1.0246/35 its easier on the liver and kidneys of your fish you are about to add. sounds like a go to me, except for the 150 package. they need food, detritus is not a pliable substance. if you have algae or diatoms you might add them now. dont the little fellows to starve, and if you overfeed to supply the package you will have nitrate and ammonia problems. how much live rock you have depends on th amount of critters you wil need. 135G you should have at least 1.5 - 1.75 lbs. of rock for a reef. then you would be OK to add the 150 package.
just my oppinion,

I would wait a week or two of the ammonia/nitrites of being at zero. That's just me though....better safe than sorry.

I personally think you should raise your temperature 3-4 degrees.

Nevada? power outage would boil everything. i do keep mine at 84f but massive temp. difference. example: tonight its gonna be 18f the low. if all your parms have zero'd and youve done 30% or greater water change you are OK to add fish. if you are weary, add Mollies first and see how they do.

haha.....I know....havent had a power outage for more that 10 minutes, 14 years in this house. It'll happen as soon as I buy fish.
This tank stuff has already been fun though.

Well I personally think using any fish as a 'guinea pig' is mean (no offense). I think you should let your tank sit with good parameters for a week or so and then start adding. The 150 pack sounds ok, but might be too much in a brand new tank. If there isn't enough junk for them to eat, they'll start dieing off on you. Your choice of course, but I personally wouldn't want to spend that kind of money when I might end up losing some of the critters.

I wouldn't waste money on the 150 package...try maybe a 50 gallon package. When they make those packages they are WAAAAAAY overkill, and half of the package ends up dying off anyway. It just takes several weeks for the cleanup crew to catch up to the algaes that have been growing for the last couple months. Yep...more patience! I hope you have a quarantine tank setup for incoming fish???

There's no evidence that lowering the SG will help fish, and it might harm them. They are adapted to the same ocean conditions as any other animal from a similar region.

I'd wait for three weeks of zero ammonia before adding any animals, just to make sure there are no secondary spikes and to give time for the tank to settle.

If I'm reading right the suggestion was to drop from 1.025 to 1.0246 - that's .0004. Do you think the fish would notice? Is this within the range of error of typical refractometers/hygrometers/aquarist eyes?
