New to all this reefing 😄

Any tips on getting those down?
Water changes will certainly help. For PO4, you could use a GFO reactor or Lanthanum chloride. I've had good success with GFO. So much so, that I no longer need to run it and water changes keep my PO4 in check.

While high the numbers aren’t terrible. The biggest thing is you don’t want 0s either.

Hi all,

Little update

Everything going really well, added lots more fish so now have

2 clowns
1 regal tang
1 blue cheeked goby
1 bengal cardinal
1 cleaner shrimp
1 emerald crab
5 nassarius snails
2 red legged hermits

Lost all my turbos, starvation probably but no issue

Question I have is I now want to start getting some corals in so due I need to ramp up my lighting as currently only on for 4 hours a day? Also anything else I need to do other than test more for magnesium, calcium etc? Was going to start with a nice green hammer they have lots of in my lfs, that a good starting coral?

Many thanks in advance

I would increase the duration of you daylight for sure. Post your water parameters please…Alk, pH, Ca & Mg especially but, also NO3 & PO4.

I personally haven’t kept LPS (like Hammers) in a very long time. But my memory is they are fairly hardly corals but can be prone to brown jelly infections (if that’s still a thing).
