d2mini's "Essential Focus" Mixed Reef Build

Great looking tank!

How are you managing algae? What type of cleanup crew do you have to maintain the tank / sump? Do you run GFO or a Fuge?

Have you had any issues with the BTA and other corals? Once it rooted down how much space did you give it / what did you put by it?

Please don't take this the wrong way ;) but I put a lot of time and effort into my build threads and I've gone over all your questions in great detail. In fact, the whole system is pretty much designed around my refugium since I designed this tank to be a Triton tank.
Yes, I am running some gfo. I suggest you take some time to go back and read, especially the whole setup in the beginning. Should be lots of good info for you. :)

Wow! That's inspirational!
Thank you! :)

Good answer lol.

Thanks for sharing! Great article as always!!! I am a photo aficionado so will go through your video in detail later on today when everyone is asleep.

I own a Canon 7D SLR and a lot of L glass, but unfortunately my skills are nowhere near yours [emoji1].

One issue I do have is that if the lens is at any sort of angle to the glass it will simply not focus, not even manually. So I am never able to get the best angles of the corals. This is particularly true with macro lenses. Any trick here?

Nope. It is what it is. With any lens.
You have two options. Shoot through the glass as perpendicular to it as you can, or use a top-down lens tube and shoot from above. When using those, you can shoot at an angle, it will just be an angle from above. And pay attention that you don't let water in by tilting it too much. ;)
They are available from both Building An Obsession and Avast Marine.

I really like your tank! I"m attempting a similar setup after 13 years out of the hobby. Very inspiring. What intensity are you running the A+B schedule at?

Dennis,

I know its kind of assumed the sponges and some of the other stuff will eventually die off the TBS rock. Have you ever tried adding phyto to try feeding them to see if that keeps them going longer? Just a random thought, since I'm starting to culture some and was reading some of the TBS threads on here.
