Dangers of treating with metro and focus?

Can anyone tell me if there are any dangers of treating prophylacticly with metro and focus? Also how long do you treat with these meds?

Treat metro as directed. I'm not sure if it was an individual reaction or if I left the drug in too long and it denatured (some of the tetracyclins get toxic if you leave them in) or if it's reactive to water conditioners, but I've had fresh water angels go blind and a salt water angel never eat again after treating metro.
