Daniel's RSM 250 SPS tank

Hi Guys

A short video of my Fuge with my favorite fish "triggerfish". Those 2 guys grew together, they were the size of a dollar coin when I was lucky to find them as babies. From time to time you can see some runs between both but as of today (touch wood) they support each other.

I added them as a kind of experiment with corals but mainly because I never had a tank without a triggerfish. I added soft, LPS and SPS corals to that fuge. They have NOT touched them at all. That was my experiment :) But still I will not add them to the DT, just in case :)

The other main new mod to my fuge is the addition of a dimmable (blue/red) LED light for growing plants (hanging at the left 240W). And added a new growing plant light for my mangroves. The small one is still there but is too small. Now they are fully lighted.

Happy new year Dan! The tank is packed to bursting! So many places to draw the eye, corals in every nook and cranny. I bet you can sit for hours looking and still find new things to see!

Hey Daniel, tank is looking great! Packed as usual. Alway looks 3 times larger than it really is.
What is that dark purple plating coral?

Hi guys

I have been not very active lately. I lost my job last November due to business reorganization in the Company. Now I got a new one and doing the background check.

I have done some changes to my tank that I will post in a few minutes.

Cheers
Daniel

Ok... here we are.

The tank was looking ugly at the center. The Policipora colony was too big, providing a lot of shadow. On top, from a viewing point of view, I was seeing most of its dead area. The alive and pretty section was near the surface. I can't placed it lower. So I decided to remove it. It is for sale now !!

Moreover, the branching Acro was not doing well. So I removed it also and saved his best branch.

Pictures please :)

The new central section of the tank

The white stuff is putty (center up) that I used to cover unwanted zoas.

Sorry if they are not the best pictures

The new ACRO colonies in the center are also in another sections of the tank. They were frags growing in my fuge. No new additions. I am following my rules.

You can see the saved branch of the bluish Acro and also a couple of fraged mini Policipora colonies. I will let it grow again. Took 4 years to get that gigantic size from a half inch frag. Amazing.

Cheers

Hey Daniel, nice to hear from you!
Sorry about the job but glad to hear you found another!
That poccilopora was huge! Must have been heavy.
You definitely gave the fish a little more swimming room.
Happy to see the acros out of the fuge!
Curious to see what they do in the display.
