Daniel's RSM 250 SPS tank

The big settosa has been STN for nearby 3 weeks. Some sections have stopped. See how pale it is compared with the colony beside it (same Settosa).

I hope it will stop there, if not...well. I am not going to do anything.

It is what it is.....

This guy was one of the first Frags in my SPS venture with a 13G tank. Then I moved to my actual tank.

Now is a ~7 diameter policipora colony. Sorry if picture isn't the best.

4 years old. Part of the colony is masked by the branching Acro.

Picture with flash !!

See original plug in the base against the rock

This picture is for you to see my 3 growing plants LEDs bulbs set-up.

One small pointing the Mangroves. See the growing toward the light.

One bigger pointing the side of my crate cage full of Macro.

I added a couple of weeks ago the one pointing the center top of the Macros.

The first 2 have been there from the start. ~ 2-3 years....cant remember now when I setup that fuge...need to check my thread :)

Hey Dan, is that a mars hydro hanging above?
I love your mangroves. How old are they?
Thanks for the backstage tour!

The hanging LED is a $100 Full spectrum from Amazon .....cheap one :)

The Mangroves are there since the start of the fuge. Later I will check my thread and will find out the age...stay tuned!!

I placed those mangroves in a HOB Petco filter of $30, that has an exterior pump. I changed once the pump. You do not need to disturb the Mangroves..

Cheers

Agreed.. it's starting to look like a jungle in there!
I would love to connect a remote tank to my system and put just mangroves in it. It would be so cool to have a tank of mangroves somewhere else in the house.

Great pictures. I see fuge setups like yours and think I need one! I bet there is millions of creatures living in there.

Thanks for the nice comments. !!!

Thanks Dan. The sump was so clean back then!
Have you ever removed and cleaned the matrix media in those reactors? Do you think it's necessary?

I did it once. And it was a mess. So I decided I will be we do it again.

I do not have the correct answer for your question.

I can tell you that in those reactors with matrix I have a zoo of life (pods, Aiptasia, feathers dusters, and who knows what else).

Cheers

Do you know the flow you have through them or could you check it?

Impossible to know that. I have a filter spong at the pumps that I clean....let say...when I see the flow reduced...that is after several months (plural). That's all I clean and that affects the flow.

Sorry for such poor answer.

Cool Video, Daniel, the reef is packed with life! Question- are the colonies in the Refugia under the red light alive? How do they do under that light?
