This is the tank I got off of Craigslist on Friday! The finish is scratched up a bit so I might have to paint it :( but other than that and the coralline on the overflows not a bad package for $575 :)

Nice, personally I wouldn't paint it, get some stains to match and fill in the scratches, the cabinet looks great now. The hood is the perfect height for you to cut two grooves cut outs for the luminarcs, make sure to have the luminarcs clamped down.

If you found some stains to match you can always make some base board, crown molding and some trims to make the cabinet look even better :D

Maybe I can touch up the finish and then put on a nice thick clear coat :) What good to use for touch up?

That looks like semi gloss lacquer, so you can use any lacquer finish, the best thing is to test it in a hidden area of the cabinet first.

just order some marco rocks to start building the rock sculptures! Should have the rocks by next Friday :)

Hey Tom, How did you secure the Lumenarcs to the lid?

I router a grove in the top of the hood and then just sat the lumi right into it, no screw nothing, but in your case, you will need to use some of those mirror holder and screw them around the grove to hold the lumi in place since your hood will be lifted

one more question.
Are the sides of the stand used for structural support? Or, can I cut a door in the side?

Updates!

Jeff And his buddies finished and delivered my stand today!!!!

They did an incredible job and I can't wait to get the tank up on it.

Thanks again Jeff.
