Very nice start, I can't wait to see the tank in a year.

Thanks Ricky,

I'm excited to see things fill in too. Now if I could just take pictures like you, I'd really be doing the tank, the fish and corals some justice!

What kind of camera are you using to take all those nice pics? I could sure use some help in the photography area.

Time for an update...

Time for an update...

I got a few new fish recently and thought I'd update you all and put up a few pictures of my new friends!

I got a male lyretail anthias and three females to go with my one lonely female...

WOW Dave! Smokin hot build thread and just spent the last hour or so catching up. I’ve seen several of your posts especially the ones on Steve’s (Jar*head) build and finally found your thread. I LOVE your stand and canopy and the open aquascaping. Anyway, tagging along.

mnml Thanks so much, it's coming along... slowly but surely!

DanW Thanks for checking things here out! I appreciate all the feedback and advice everyone's given along the way. Steve's set up is awesome, huh! I just was out to Cali recently and was fortunate enough to stop by and meet he and his family and get to see that MONSTER of a tank of his! Steve's a great guy!

I like your tank now that I've found it too. Steve had mentioned you to me while I was visiting and I'd seen some of your posts but finally found your tank thread last night. I'll be tagging along with your progress too! Aren't the Starphire LeeMar tanks nice? They do a really good build I think.

Dave, yup love Lee Mar tanks. Everyone I’ve seen has been of high quality and better designed than most. Haven’t seen an Elos or AGA but I hear those are unbelievable. I donated about 12 large colonies to Steve’s tank over the last few months during my clean-up but it was like spitting in the ocean! Looking forward on keeping up with your updates, keep them coming!

Come on Dave. We need to see the pre/post Zeo pictures.

I'll try to get some new pics up asap... I won't be able to get to it till tomorrow maybe? I've been in and out with work today and will do my best to get some up soon!

Thanks for stopping in and feel free to give any advice you feel is worth noting!

Dave, Forgot to mention that I was out in AZ last weekend, man 113 degrees! Then what I thought was a fire from a distance turned out to be something I've never experienced, a dust storm.:eek1: The air turned a nice shade of brown (kinda like some of the corals in my tank). It made the inside of my eyelids feel like sandpaper when I blinked. That was crazy.

Great looking tank. When I was looking at your pictures you showed 2 different types of bonsai corals a silver bullet and a standard. Whats the difference between these 2 corals? Thanks

DanW - Don't ya just LOVE our Phoenix weather...? Nah, it's just not right how hot it is here. I've lived here most of my life and every year seems worse! However, if you can stomach the sweltering 3-4 months of ungodly heat the rest of the year is great!

zdawgnight - Thanks for your compliments and for your interest~!

As far as the difference between the two different types of bonsais's I've never seen a full colony of the silver bullet so I can't really comment. Maybe Brad(yeldarbj) could comment, he's who I got the pieces that I have from. One has white, silverish polyps and purple tips, the other has a deeper purple with green polyp coloration and growth form. You'd think the one with the silverish polyps is the silver bullet but I think Brad told me it's the other way round??? Anyway, I like them and just thought I'd get both when I found out he had them available!

I'd like to get a better camera lens soon, I hope these shots aren't too bad. I wasn't using a tripod so a few are a little out of focus but you get the idea.
