DD Haddoni.

Well, the anemone arrived about 30 minutes ago and is now acclimating in my 5 gallon bucket via drip line. I have to hand it to Live Aquaria, they really know how to package stuff up and ship!! I also got a small DD Derasa clam and the box they came in was huge, packed full of peanuts, about four heat packs that were still nice and hot.

The anemone was wrapped in SIX BAGS! Two bags, in two bags, in two bags. The anemone was 12" on their website, but I a guessing it is more like 18" in person. I will post some pics up when I get him in the tank. I am always very impressed with Live Aquaria.

When I ordered mine the other day I couldn't remember my password online, so I called them and was on hold for several minutes waiting for an operator. Used to be you could get right through, so I guessed a few times until I got it right and ordered it:D

What was the water temp when it arrived? I thought they did a poor job of keeping the water temp at a reasonable level.

I didn't check it because the box was so warm from all the heat packs and the anemone looked good.

Looking really good Dave. How is the mouth?

Are you going to acclimate it to your lights? I have found that that goes a long way towards helping them settle in. I have always used 3 layers of window screening, with removing a layer each 5-7 days.

When I turned all of my Tunze pumps back on the anemone looked unhappy and went into that rock cave for cover because it didn't like the flow. Since then, I have moved it to the front part of my cube tank where the flow is not so great and I am hoping it will be happy there.

I am debating leaving my metal halides off today, they are 4 400 watt Ushio 14K along with four 110 watt VHO super actinic. I might just leave my actinics on so as to not shock the anemone.

One thing I am fearful of is my Maculosis angel....he is always very shy and hides like a cat...I hope this anemone doesn't bring out the devil in him. If so, I will have to capture him quickly or temporarily move the carpet to my 150g fuge that has a 6" Ritteri and RBTA in it.

Yea, all of my Haddonis are NOT fan of lots of flow -- it is tough getting the flow low enough for them, but high enough to keep the SPS happy.

I would screen the halides, like I mentioned above, and leave them on their normal schedule.

I have never had that angel, but my blueface loved to take bites of my Haddoni when the clowns weren't looking.

Todd, I haven't been able to get a shot at its mouth. It has been tightly wrapped since I got it. So far, its foot has not started to burrow down in the sand.

Well, the angel is a beautiful fish that rarely comes out except for food. He is super shy and the Clarkii pair I have are pretty big and they rule the tank. My tang and foxface are always missing some tail because of the clarkii's.

With this tank being a 5x5ft tank, I am going to have to get at least ten feet of screen:lol:

Ahh, figured that was the case.

I think it will start to burrow when it is happy with the flow. I think you said that you turned the powerheads back on? Personally I would leave them off until it settles in.

The Clarkiis should help, I know that my pair kept the blueface at bay, most of the time.

he he he. I have a big roll of it at home for ya. ;)

But, could just screen the part that is over the anemone.

I will turn the Tunze pumps off for a while. I have pretty good flow from the Hammerhead that feeds this tank and the 375. Worse case scenario is I put this anemone in the 375 with lower flow, but the cube is screaming for some sandbed livestock.
