Dead Chromis = Anemone's Dinner?

Came home last night to find my mom's blue/green chromis dead and stuck to my filter grille. Don't know what happened to the fella, no one bullied him, he ate, and kept to himself. Parameters are still zero. All I did recently was add some calcium/pH buffer. I did notice that at night he liked to sleep up next to the filter intake. Maybe he got sucked into it? His fins were pretty badly frayed..

So I fished him out, was about to wrap him up in tissue and toss him when my dad recommended, "feed it to the anemone." Brilliant!

So I gently placed it on the tip of one my Condy's tentacles and it slowly but surely wrapped it up and shoved it into its mouth. Interesting to watch. I tried to record it on my phone, but the fish was so wrapped up in the tentacles, there wasn't much to see. I'm expecting to do a water change and some vacuuming when I get home in anticipation of the Condy spitting out its bones.

Looked about the tank this morning and the Condy looks happier than ever. Its tentacles inflated and extended and facing directly toward the front of the tank so I could see its mouth.

Not sure if that was a good idea though. Now the Condy has a taste for fish, if it didn't already. I have been target feeding it mysis and brine shrimp.

Thoughts? Comments? Criticisms?

I don't think feeding it to the Condy will make it bloodthirsty for fish all of a sudden -- nature took care of that. ;)

I've done it before with no ill effects, but I wouldn't do it if the fish had been dead for a while and started to decompose. Also not sure if a sick fish would transfer any disease to the anemone -- if that is even possible.

I admit, I was a little weary of posting this. I was afraid someone may scrutinize me for being insensitive or not giving the Chromis a proper burial. :)

My ex was budhist, and would say " you must return it to the ocean"
I pretended to, but never did!
I was afraid I'd be introducing some foreign disease to our water or something.
Nah, make use of it.
If it had obvious disease I would maybe hesitate, but like Toddrtrex said, I don't even know if that could affect a nem.
That would be a good experiment/study(but not w/ my nem!)

Easy for you to do, you're in Encinitas! :D But I guess if you flush them down the toilet, they'll eventually make it to the ocean.. right?

Don't worry about me. It was drilled into my head to never be a "litter bug" since kindergarden. I've ruined many pairs of pants by leaving my chewed gum and their wrappers and in my pants because I'll never spit gum out on the floor (I hate stepping on gum).

Haha, it seems that way sometimes! Anyone here from Huntington Beach? There's always something going on with the water there... But eventually, maybe in tiny molecules, a dead fishy will make its way to the ocean. :D
