Deep Down Florida 300g In-wall Build

Wow, nice build. How high will the base be? It looks like there is a 12" or so difference in the height of the base in the garage vs. the house.

It's about a 9" drop.
In the garage, the floor to the top of the stand is 51".
It will be top heavy so I will be securing it down to the concrete in the garage.

Ok so I didn't have the wood yet to begin the build for my stand so I decided to think through my plumbing. Here is what I am planning on doing.
the red things are the ball valves.

Ok so I have been working on my stand so I wanted to post the progress.

I wanted to secure the stand to the concrete since my stand is 52" tall and it will be extremely top heavy.

I saw another thread that someone bought a tank from reefsavy. So I went and checked out his website. I want 1 of his tanks now. I cant wait to see how yours comes out. He does nice work.

It has been a while since I updated the post but I have been working so much on this tank I was to tired to update the post.
So since my last post I have built a retractable retro fit VHO lighting system, re-enginered an acrylic sump, and finished my wiring. Oh yeah, I got my fish tank.

Ok so the this picture is my retractable lighting system. What I mean by retractable is I can move it up and down with one finger. This will give me the room to work inside the tank when needed. The four black things on top are what allows me to move the lights. The tension if full adjustable.

This is a picture of my sump. I bought this from another forum member and it was 24" deep and the sections were not divided the way I wanted. So I took it apart and changed it to be 16" wide, added bubble traps and another section. So now the water will flow down (dirty section), go through a refuge, then to the return section.

This picture is just showing my electrical work cleaned up and finished.

And last, my tank waiting to get setup on the stand. This tank is beautiful. If I ever get another tank I will be looking for Felix and Reef Savvy to do the job with out a second thought.

So I am looking to get the tank in today. I will update when I am done.

Looks great!

I have one question on the tank sides. It looks like you did them in black which should be nice from the front, but are you going to be able to see in from the back or sides if you need to work on something or rearrange anything in the tank?

With the help of a bunch of friends I have my tank in place. It isn't clean yet but it soon will be.
Here is a picture from both the front and the back.
In the front I still have finishing work to do such as the frame that will go around the tank.

Well I have beed extremely busy trying to complete this project. I had some time today to take pictures of my progress. I will be getting water delivered tomorrow so I needed to be done with the plumbing today.
This picture shows the entire back part of my project.
On the left is my water station. Top barrel is for RO\DI and will be used for auto top off.
Bottom barrel is for mixing salt water.

THis is a closer view of my water station. When I need salt water I turn the op valve on to let the water flow to the bottom tank. Once the bottom tank is full I close the top valve and add salt to the tank. I then open the valves in the middle and in the bottom. This will give me a closed loop and let the water and salt mix. When I am ready to do the water change I will close the middle valve and open the top right valve which leads into the tank. That will be my semi-automatic water change.

This is a close up of the second part to my semi-automatic top off. When I do the water change all equipment will be off. This valve will let out any water which is above the power off water level. I haven't adjusted it yet because I do not have water. I will be adding a hose which will lead down my driveway. The other pump is for my skimmer.

This is the frame which will go around the tank on the front side. I cut it and stained it a chocolate brown. I think it came out really nice.

Well that is it for now. Tomorrow I get the water.
