Wow, I just read through your thread and found your 'NatuReef' set up very interesting! Did your numbers really come down like that? Any updates with this product and how it is still working?

Yes my nitrates and phosphates coming out or the Natureef did drop like that. I am happy with it but I still don't have it fully figured out yet. I should be able to cycle about 4 times a day with the same results but I have been unable to do so. I am sure it is something I am doing wrong so I haven't eliminated it from my setup yet. I need to find time to talk to someone who specializes in the Natureef.
I know there are a few others on this forum who also use a Natureef and are happy with the results.

It does work as advertised and has been working like this for many years.
I used to run one a while back and currently running it again with excellent results.

Been having the same problem, I dose twice a day but can only cycle once a day.

I am sure it is a little something I need to tweak in order for it to cycle more than twice a day.

So looking at one of the sponsors for the ReefCentral site, I saw something that I wanted. It is from Advast Marine and it is called the Swabie. Instead of spending $1600 dollars or so from Deltec, I saw this skimmer neck cleaner from Swabie for $100 and change. I figured why not give it a try so I did.
I bought the DIY kit which was very easy to build using the pictures from their website.

I saw one of these and thought it was nice ...Im glad a company has finally started bringing down the cost of these......I picked up a used one of these already a while back http://www.aquariumspecialty.com/pr...g-heads/aqua-driver-self-cleaning-heads...and I retrofitted it for my bubble king sm 300 instead of buying the one from bubble king that was $2000......one thing I liked about the aqua drivers were that they utilize a spray bar that takes tank water from inside the skimmer and sprays it over the cleaning bar while it is turning......If I wouldnt have picked up a used one of the Aqua Drivers I def would have gone this route......nice job

I have the original aqua driver unit but the gear box seize and I can't get it to turn no matter how much wd40 I have dipped it in, I was contemplating getting the swabie too but I wanted to see how it worked first, Now I can!

I just finished installing my LED lights and will take a picture of it tonight.

this is a very nice tank.. Im looking to update my tank and i like how yours is setup
