Deep Water Picture Thread!

Are you sure that is A. elegans? It is hard to tell from that angle. Kind of looks like an A. simplex I have.

Here is the absolute sickest (in a good way) elegans I have seen posted:

It belongs to Garrett (justgettinstarted on RC). And no, he won't frag it.

Here are a couple of pictures of mine. The first two are from almost two years ago and the last is from October.

Anyone know the ID on the piece I posted, is it deepwater? I inherited it over two years ago. Awesome piece Steve.

Now that you mention it, I think I do remember him calling it A. simplex rather than A. elegans. Regardless of the species, it is a nice piece.

Nice pics, BTW. And congrats on TOTM.

Oh ya ... duh! I got distracted looking at the pics and forgot to say ... very nice Steve!

I agree with Steve that it prob it is a simplex, check my gallery for my elegans. There is a LFS here with a couple of those blue tip simplexes here in NorCal

Rosaria?

Sweet thread, I think the last one is actually Loripes, Veron has a phenominal picture of one where the corallites line up in a straight line randomly

Where do you guys feel you get the best growth and colortaion with you depp water acros. I havea carolinia that ha sgrown aonly marginally in 6 or 7 motnhs but retains an amazing green color. anyone have success with them in different flow and light areas in the tank. Mine is in good flow with bright lighting.

My suharsanoi and caroliniana are at the bottom of my 30" tank under 400w radiums. They pretty much "glow" but grow painfully slow. They seem to be encrusting a very large base before they want to put on any linear growth. I've had them for about 6 months now. I did take a frag off the suharsanoi about 6 weeks ago and it healed up real fast and has regrown about 3/4" of that branch already.

resurrecting an old thread cause i got a new piece. caroliniana coloring up very nicely.
