What are these? i got these at a lfs for suncoral prices but suncorals are more like a ball... i have dendros and they are similar but not exacty the same.

below are my dendros..

Looks like sun corals to me. I would put them in a shady spot and feed them like you would dendros with some meaty food like Rod's and mysis.

i thought that was what they were too - sun corals - but the ones i have usually stay out all the time like my dendros. i'm hoping that they are dendros b/c i would have a steal here!

I'm no expert here, but I was always under the impression that Sun Corals grew more like a cluster and Dendrophyllia grew more like a tree branch...
so I would think you have Dendrophyllia...but like I said, I could be wrong :p
either way, they look beautiful...good luck :D

The mouth and size of these confuse me b/c i think they might be sun corals because of how the tentacles look. They are more yellow and less translucent.

The way i have my tank set up, i have a dead spot for light. its about 7 inches long on a 6 foot tank so its just enough space for my low light corals. its going to be my sponge section when my tank matures enough for them.

I think you have a form of a dendro there. I was at Sea Schor a few weeks ago and he had the same type of coral and said they were dendros. I don't think they are true sun polyps. They weren't that expesive either at Sea Schor...like $40.

yup i picked them up. they complement the larger dendros i have. so far so good. it came with 17 head i think. the heads are about thumbtack size. my Japanese dendros are about dime size. I got those at a frag swap from monti.
