Roger,

I am in the planning stage of a 72"long x 48" wide x 30" tall acrylic tank (my guess is it will be 1" thick). Looking at keeping predominantly SPS corals.

Would 2-6201's with controller be sufficient for this tank (I was thinking to put one in middle/back of each 48" side pointing to front/center.)

Also looking at mounting options- I think magnetic holders only go up to 3/4". Any advice? Will the 6201 fit in the deco rock?

When the tank grows in you will need more flow...I have a 72x36x24 and have 4 6201's and two wave boxes....

remember rocks and corals slow flow...think of it as wind...very calm in a forest and step into an open field and BAM....very very windy...

just my thoughts.

tangdiver- where do you have the 6201s placed? I am assuming two on each side. How are they mounted?

The 6201's fit in the 6200.25 deco rock. I think 4 6201's will be the minimum given how wide the tank is, you could start with 2 but as Grant said as things grow in you will likely need 2 more.
