Desjardini Sailfin Tang losing color???

My tang is losing color... as in the colors are fading.
He almost looks white in comparison to how he used to look.
Other than that he seems healthy. Eats and swims like normal.
I feed mostly Reef Frenzy and algae sheets.
My other fish seem fine.

Any ideas???

My desjardini had several color forms depending on mood, but as he grew over 8" he got a bit paler in general. The lighter colors on mine displayed stress, perhaps that's what's going on with yours? Can you post a picture?

hmmm... yeah, now that you mention it, it does seem worse sometimes vs others.
I'll try to get a pic tomorrow when my lights aren't so blue.

Is it stress related like mentioned above or something else?
Is it temporary or is it something like a juvenile to adult color change?

Like I said, mine got paler as he grew in general. The white coloration was a stress color though.

How old is the fish? As mentioned, they fade with age...

I've had him for a year and a half. He's probably 4-5" long now.

when i had mine, it would changes colors depending on mood. my current sailfin does the exact same thing. when i feed the tank, he is almost see thru... like i can see inside of him. its really wierd, but then others times he is super colorful and the best looking sailfin i have ever seen.

i have heard the color fading a bit as they get older, but i have never seen this first hand. none of mine have ever had this happen.

That's a normal and temporary color change, nothing to be concerned about.

I agree. Many tangs do that or its equivalent. Naso Vlamingi turns dark when it is in a "bad mood" (whatever that is in fish terms)
