***DG's 200**

Thanks for sharing your experience. Sorry that it didn't work out. The only thing that worked for me was a 3 months QT with dipping process.

Using the QT time to clean up a bit. Things you find when re-aquascapping...

Malu Sebae anemone buried deep in the rock work. Flipped this rock over to add to my QT and....hello there....:

UPDATE:
I QT'd my corals and began dipping; though, I lost many of the corals due to poor QT conditions. I then decided to link a small QT system to my main with 100 micron socks on the intake and outlet, did 6 weeks of Bayer Dips, and saved the corals that I could.

It is 2 months since I completed the "QT" procedure, I have checked for AEFW and I appear to be free of the little buggers. Note I am using "QT" in quotes here. It is not a true quarantine and generally, I don't think this is the way people should plan on doing this. But it did seem to work for this event.

Here is a pic of the QT (after the filter socks were discontinued)....

And some current FTS's....

Thanks for the update. So far, a 2-3month QT/Dipping process seems like the main method for getting rid of AEFW's for good. From my reading arouns on RC and various other forums, it seems like the various "in tank treatments" dont always work, and it results in loss of many corals. With the DIP/QT method and when using Revive as the dip, I didnt lose any corals.

I am now nearing almost a year since I treated for AEFW; with my corals growing and colouring up and seeing no death/damage/STN/RTN I am 100% the AEFW's are gone. It was a hard time especially at the start. But so worth it.

I'm glad your tank is on the mend. Hope you got them for good. Tank still looks nice.

Update since AEFW wipe out and re-boot...

Us Elos guys have to stick together! Just ran across your thread while searching for some info on my 160. I will bookmark to keep it accessible. Setup looks very nice! My own is probably near 2 years old now and I have had my own set of setbacks, one major one being AEFW (Which I eliminated by removing all acros as well).

Good to see Rov here too

Henry

Wow! Nice recovery from the aefw. Tank looks really good.
Very nice, natural scape.

Thanks! Pulled out most of the branching montiporia and started dosing this week as a supplement to my Kalkwasser/ATO. Currently dosing 80 ml plus kalk/ato.

A few new live stock coming tomorrow...fish etc

That is looking darned good! Nice job on recovering from the earlier issues:)

Thinking about taking down my refugium. I don't have phosphate issues (that I know off; though, I have never tested for it), but don't want to suddenly need to clean my glass twice per day.

Do you think this is even putting a dent in nutrient export? It's about 5 gallons and I have never actually removed any macro from it. Total tank volume about 200+

When you say refugium, you mean the section on the left, correct?
You don't mean the whole thing, skimmer and all right?
