This guy lives proximal to the anemone at all times. The clowns ignore it and have set up a nest on the glass...where their eggs keep me from cleaning.

Flame Hawk sitting among the sps. Great fish! My shrimp only are visible at night –perhaps this is why?

Florida Fighting Conch. They say keeps sand clean. My experience, nothing other than a sandstorm-creating diamond goby really cleans sand. Cool critter still that is active all day. I keep 3 of them.

Neglected animal. Poor Brian:

Been dosing kalk in my ATO since inception; though, about 3 weeks ago, I started dosing 2-part as well. Currently dosing 108 mL of each per day + Ato/kalk.

Alk: 8.1
Ca 490
Mg 1350
PhO4: 0.1
NO3: 0.2

very very nice build.

maybe I missed it but is all you have taking out the nutrients is a skimmer??

I have a refugium in the sump; though, I have never harvested any of the algae from it. It has been stagnant with growth since I built the tank. No PhO4 remover running.

thats awesome to have such a nice tank with just a skimmer really, where you see most people with 10 different combinations of things to take everything out

Starfish from KP Aquatics. Reef safe for 4 months...eats pieces of clam etc. Leaves living clam alone. No reports of adverse starfish events with these...

I know most starfish don't survive very long but I have seen that these ones from KP Aquatics have survived a lot longer. how is yours doing?

also, do you still add Vodka and CyanoClean everyday? If so how much now and why?

For awhile I was dosing a very small amount of vodka, about 5 mL but been battling cyano so stopped about 8 months ago.

5 mL is almost a homeopathic dose for my tank, but I had a theory that even small doses help with coloration "“not just nitrates. Just a theory though.

I will probably restart the ultra low dosing of vodka sometime over next couple weeks. But I want to get everything else stable first so I can see if my theory seems plausible.

He was doing great until two weeks ago when he took a journey into my vortech. For a while it was a fragment of an arm left still crawling around; though, I think it finally decayed and died. As long as you can spot feed it pieces of squid etc. it will live in a reef tank. But the fish will out compete it for food if you don't.

Re-designed sump with Santa Monica algae scrubber:

<a href="http://s774.photobucket.com/user/david_gutkin/media/1469680A-B56F-4040-B9AF-C88D5A66AB45.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i774.photobucket.com/albums/yy22/david_gutkin/1469680A-B56F-4040-B9AF-C88D5A66AB45.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo 1469680A-B56F-4040-B9AF-C88D5A66AB45.jpg"/></a>

Scrubber is brand new, here it is after about two weeks. Once algae started growing it is going pretty fast –probably be able to harvest handful once every 7 days.

Tank looks fantastic. Especially considering you did battle with the dreaded aefw. Nice golden! I lost my 11yo cooper before Xmas. We are picking up our new pup tomorrow so not will be good to have a dog back in the house. Wont need to clean up the floor under the dinning room table as often 😉.
