Diary 30g Cube SPS tank

This is my 30g oceanic cube that i just purchased. I plan to turn this into one awesome SPS tank. So i will take all of you on my journey. Enjoy and be sure to check back for updates.

My new oceanic 30g cube.

In about a week ill hopefully have my skimmer and some water and rock in it..check back

nice man....those are cool tanks. I actually upgraded to a 40 gallon Oceanic Hex....its very similar to the cube in height and width. Perfect for a MH pendant.....I'll be following your posts. What are your equipment plans??

i think its 18L by 20 inches wide and maybe 18 tall...im going to put the metal halide PFO horizontal pendant(250 watt 20,000k, 2- 28 watt actinics over it), Im going to do a cpr hang on the back refugium and a coralife super skimmer and a couple maxi jets on it.it should be sweet so check it out when i get it up..

Just curious how the 20 K and two actinics will look? Will they be running together or are the acnics just for morning nd late night?

Are you going to use starboard? I would suggest it.
Oh and, especially if you go barebottom, forget using a few maxijets, a single Rio Seio will keep the entire volume of water churning in there!

I wanted one of those tanks, i thought it would be really sweet.

I just got a coralife super skimmer (65g), and also a aqua medic sp 3000 top off unit that will be used as a doser for kalkwasser. I just added 30 pounds of live sand and 30 pounds of aragamax sand to the tank. From my LFS i got 20 gallons of water out of their established lps and sps tank. check out their website reef-revolution .I added that and 10 more gallons of fresh sw so the tank should be ready to go in no time. ill prob let it cycle in a little bit for about a week or 2 though..

heres my auto top off unit and my skimmer..ill update more pics as i get it all hooked up correctly.
