Dictyota Control

I setup and ran my tank for six months without fish so I ensured a good population of critters and algae. I have been rewarded with amphipods, copepods, mysis, worms, and a plethora of algae: Neomeris, Sargassum, Halimeda, Padina, Dictyosphaeria, and Dictyota. The last one is the only one causing me troubles. It is an invasive weed. I am looking for a biological control for this. Is there anything that reliably eats it?

Hey Steven,

I have heard longspine (Diadema) urchins will eat this algae. They may enjoy eating other algae that you like, though. Also these urchins may irritate come corals when they climb over them.
