Different water lines in overflow boxes

Hey guys,
I'm upgrading from a 75g to 150g. My 75 is still running and I just finished setting up the 150g. It's been about a week now the 150g has been running. Everything is keen no leaks. Running smooth and quiet until the toilet flushing begins. The problem I'm having is the water line in the over flow boxes. One in each corner of the tank. One is higher than the other. The one that is lower is the one that rises and falls. But it only does it every couple of hours or so. The tank is leveled. I'm running a supreme classic 1800gph return pump from lfs. What could be causing this to happen any help would be appreciated!!

Well, first off, the durso drains appear to be at slightly different heights, so this will clearly affect the water levels. Second, any differences in plumbing will affect flow and affect water levels.

I noticed that as well. There is holes with a tube coming out of the 90s. When I drill more holes do I out anything else in there?

if there are already holes there I wouldn't drill anymore but I would make sure they are clean and don't have any salt buildup in them.
then I would try n make the standpipe so the same height

Ok I'll check to see if there is any build up there. What could I put there instead of the dinky tube that is there? Any valve? But wouldn't there be build up over time anyways? Is there anything that wouldn't need daily cleaning of the salt build up?

I clean out my durso holes about once a month, maybe more.
I don't do it as a routine, just when it needs it and that is when I get that flushing sound.
One my 1" drains I have a 1/8" hole that was reamed out a little.

All of my durso style stand pipes are just open.
I guess the idea of a air line attached with a valve is to restrict air flow if the hole is too big.

I'd make sure it was clean and unobstructed before making it any bigger.
Plus I would make sure the two different drains were equal before making any alterations

Good news! I adjusted the standpipes to same height and removed and cleaned the hole and the water lines are the same no more flushing!

Next question I have is for the sump...

1st chamber is filter socks, 2nd is refrugium with only miracle mud for now (will add mangroves and chaeto), 3rd is return pump and skimmer (not installed yet) waiting for cycling of the tank..

The waterline in the 3rd chamber always seems to drop and I have add water. Is that because the return is pushing more water out than coming in? Do I tone the return down with gate valve? There are no leaks so that is my thought any insight?

I put my skimmer in the first chamber where there is a fixed height baffle where the water level is always the same.
I would figure a way to put yours there.

When the water level drops, is it over the course of a few days?
Is it evaporation?

A ATO should be in your near future.
