Digital Aquatics Archon Owners Thread

I have a writeup somewhere on another site with photos. Let me see if I can find it for you.

Logn and short, you need an arduino board to take analog signals from the archon and convert them into a reverse PWM. There is a guy on here who makes these boards and he made me one with a reverse programming from standard.

Let me see what I can dig back up and Ill PM it to you.

Thanks man! I gotta say this archon is bumming me out. I mean it has pwm outputs, switching it to reverse pwm should be a software thing....Does it feel like development is dead on this thing, or is it just me? Ive been a D.A guy for years but I'm not really impressed with the archon.

Have you tried making 100% as the minimum and say 50% as the maximum on the ramp function?

There is still development. I actually got a taste of some major changes that are cool. They are working on the reverse pwm. It's not as easy as you may think.

Well I copied everything and it fired up. I have spent the last couple of hours calibrating my probes and setting all the timers up etc. I think that it is working pretty well.

Thank you very much for all your help. Apparently I didn't even have to download telenet since mac's already have the program installed.

My only problem now is that the graphs won't display anything and the main page will not display any of the outputs.

Shut your system down and pull the drive. It is probably in a read-only mode so you will need to check it for errors. I am not sure how you do this on a Mac.

When you power it back up applied power with the power supply first before connecting your bus cables to it.

Is the website any better looking in the new beta?.....it feels so 1990's. I love the hardware side, its just the software that feels so clunky. I want to see more than one graph at a time, to be able to lock my switches out, to see alarms on the home screen, a mobile app that actually works.I want....I want....I want it to be more like apex fusion. There I said it :)

Lol. Let me see if we can get alarms on the home screen. I do know if there is an alarm, top bar turns red. As for the multiple graphs, great idea.

If u want a different background, u can just swap the image.

As for an app, I'm not sure. It's very web based and Firefox works well on my phone.

This is What I have so far.

I just wish the webpage was more user friendly. Bigger easier to read values smaller less noticeable switches. I have a display mounted to my stand. I want to see things at a glimpse not have to inspect and scroll and switch tabs. I also would like to see some outputs but not have the ability to switch them on/off by accident

You do know that it changes depending on the device you are using. I kinda like it. Maybe that is because I am used to it by now. I use a iPad most of the time it is the full size iPad. I don't have a display at the tank. All I need is the iPad or my phone reguardless of where I am to find out what is going on. As far as the homepage I have all the possible input and outputs selected. Then again I have 16 modules hooked to the Archon at this time. 10 float switches and 2 water sensors. So I have lots of input and lots of outputs to monitor.

It's definitely growing on me. It has its quircks, Like not being able to see and compare multiple graphs. The hardware is rock solid though!

whats going on with having to have posts approved over @ the DA forum.....Its been like 5 days and my posts still haven't been approved?

I've had my unit since July and, this week, for the first time, the unit is not connecting to wifi. I've reset the Archon by putting a paper clip in the reset hole and pressing the button, I've powered it down, and I've reset my router. All other wifi devices are working properly. I've looked at the router Lan->Status page and verified that the Archon hasn't connected to some new/different IP. Lights on/off appear to be working properly, and it properly recovers from the reboots.

Any ideas on how I can get re-connected, or otherwise debug this situation?

I think this has happened to a couple if others if you read back in this post. I don't remember the exact fix. If you need to change anything in the meantime you can connect to the lan port via a router and access it that way.

So after looking back, I was reminded of the initial setup procedures. Sure enough, the Archon was in access point mode and it had lost my SSID, login settings, timezone, etc. I filled those out and it reconnected to the home network as usual. Flaky behavior. And, it is still losing all graph data since I upgraded to 1.09.62.

Have you checked your USB drive for errors? Try copying all files on USB to a new one and pop it in and see if that helps.

Is the product going to continue to advance and grow? Updates and advancements seem to have stalled and the competitors seem to be advancing much quicker.
