dippin in jelly

Thanks for looking. I have kids going out near Bonnet Shores and Matunuck this weekend. I'm also going to Fort Wetherhill to see if any are hiding there. If not this summer, I'll wait until next year. :)

Good luck goby! I want a jelly tank one day. They have a cool exhibit with moon jellies at the norwalk aquarium. They also breed a lot of moon jellies there

Thanks. I've wanted a jelly tank since I saw them at the Boston Aquarium almost two years ago. I know it's going to be a challenge, but I'll give it my best shot. :)

I would love to see more people into keeping these. Its not easy bc you can't make money on them. Mabey jelly tanks will separate the men from the boys:)

I went to Jamestown today and caught a whole bunch of moon jellies. I also saw a lion's mane jellyfish, but it was too big for my tank. There were tons of walnuts too, but they didn't seem as interesting as the moons. So far they seem to be doing pretty well, just floating around in a circle. :)

LOL I don't know how to post pics. I don't think they are moon jellies. They don't have the four lobes on the top, but other than that they look the same. We went back today and brought home some comb/walnut jellies, but I can't keep them in the same tank. The walnuts are boring unless you shine a light on them, then they have this awesome rainbow affect running all along their bodies. If you turn the lights off, and shake the bowl, they flash a blue light. The walnuts go back to the ocean in the morning.

Day 3 and they're still alive. I did a partial water change, but I don't think they noticed. There's a lot I can't figure out and google just doesn't have the answers. For instance, I know they eat other jellies of different species, but do they eat each other? Sometimes they attach to each other mouth to bell, but I can't decide if they're just floating together or if one is trying to eat the other.

are you feeding them baby brine shrimp?, you could also try freeze dried krill smashed up into little bits, I need to eat like twice a day or they start sit weather up and die.injured jellies will rejuvenate very quickly with baby brine.

I've been feeding baby brine, cyclopeeze, golden pearls and an accidental walnut jelly. I think they liked the walnut the best. I'm guessing that if they can eat something that big, then the other stuff should be O.K. I have three brine shrimp bottles bubbling, but they are so tiny, I don't see how they can keep anything alive, that's why I supplement with other foods - not the walnut, that was an unfortunate accident.
