Dipping Hawkins

I am in a relentless battle with aefw's and have decided I am going to cut all the corals from the lr and put them in a temporary tank. Then I plan on dipping and turkey basting them until I am satisfied they are gone. How long should I dip the Hawkins? I have heard they are really sensitive to dipping and it is a really nice 5-6 inch colony that I would hate to lose.

I didhalf the dosage with coral rd and just watched the skin come right off. if it happened to me again I think I would just baste it. just my opinion

agreed. It does not tolerate dipping at all.

Get alot of wrasses turkey baste and relax. Give it some time, there are talks that some companies are coming out with whole tank dips thatare reef safe and not as harsh on corals. Get your wrasse on

I was going to dip in revive. I have a wrasse and he hides while I am basting. Apparently he doesn't know he is supposed to be out eating flatworms when they are blowing around,lol. I have been reading of the proposed aefw whole tank dips, but in the meantime the corals are taking a beating. I've been dipping what I can(most corals are encrusted on lr too big to remove) and basting and syphoning what I can. It's only getting worse. Lost 3 millie colonies, and a few more are getting pretty stressed. That is why the tank teardown. Need to do something now before I lose all the acros. So back to the op, ok I will not dip the hawkins, just baste. Thanks guys.

What i have notice with my hawkins is that they are more sensitive to hands and being handled than getting dipped. I have dipped a fresh cut 1/4 " in bayer advance and mounted via tweezers and it was totally fine. On the other hand I moved the main colony and glued the plug it was on onto another rock and the parts that i touched bleached and lost tissue. The hawkins are the only sps in my tank that responds this way after being handled others could care less. Have anyone else noticed this?

Use the bayer insecticide and it will be fine revive and coral rx will kill it
