Hey guys

I bought a Convict Tang a couple of days ago and he's broken out in shades dark patches on his scales.

I've attached a picture in the hopes someone can ID this.

Going only from the blurry picture, I would guess, uronema marinum.

Yes, better pictures are needed.
Also consider flipping the phone 90° to get a more useful aspect ratio.

Yea did try getting a better pic but he swims too fast to take a good pic lol
Will try and get a better pic though.

I managed to catch it and put it in qt last night, looks really worse for ware this morning though.

I have started to dose cupramine would, it be worth lowing the salinity to 1.011 as well or would this be too stressful for the fish ?

Yea it does look like that and also the link in that thread further down looks like the same thing, doesnt look very promising :S

I'll keep dosing cupramine and hope for the best.

My best guess on treatment is a version of tank transfer. Do formalin dips then move into clean water. But if my supposition is correct, uronema is a tough parasite.
