Diving trip to Cayman Islands...a little help please

Myself and GF are looking to go to Grand Cayman around Dec-Jan to do some diving & snorkeling. Was looking at Beach Club Colony all inclusive with the divers package. This is on the west side of the island. Also want to maybe jump over to one of the other smaller Cayman islands to dive a wall that I read about.

Can anyone make any suggestions\recommendations on places to stay and where to dive? How much is it to fly to the smaller Cayman Islands?

Anybody stay at this resort? Beach Club Colony?

Haven't stayed there, not sure they were even in existance last time I was in Grand Cayman. The 7 mile beach is a good area to stay in. Nice for just plain swimming, and convenient for driving to most places. If the diving is based from the hotel, they will take you to some good reefs, but not the best Cayman has to offer. Still worth diving though ;) Looking at the website, they mention unlimited shore diving. If that includes grabbing a couple of tanks and hitting the road, go up to the Turtle Farm and Park at the Cracked Conch. There is entry ladder behind the Cracked Conch, as well as a small dive shop under it, with excellent diving. The absolute best diving, IMO, on Grand Cayman is the East End and North walls.

I"m guessing the wall you read about is the famous Bloody Bay wall on Little Cayman. Great diving indeed :D At Little Cayman, we stayed at the Little Cayman Beach Resort. Great place to stay and a great diving operation. Only air transport is via Island Air on small prop planes. Best to check directly with them for current rates. Cayman Brac is also a good place to stay with good diving, and they are close enough to Little Cayman to make runs to Bloody Bay wall if the weather permits. On the Brac I've stayed at the Reef Resort a couple of times, decent place and a very good dive operation.

My girlfriend and I are flying to Grand Cayman in 4 days. Staying on 7 mile beach at the Grand Marriott.

I can tell you that it is cheaper in the summer vs dec. jan. We originally planned on going in jan but plans fell through. looked back into it during summer and it was couple hundred cheaper p person.

Thanks guys. The reason for Dec-Jan is my 50th b'day on 12-29. Most places are full those days anyway for the new year. Was also looking at East End, think it was Compass Point Dive Resort, good reviews on Expedia. The Grand Mariott is also an option but would prefer something with dive shop relation, they are off from the beach some I think. What is the difference in diving the east side vs the west side of the island, any?

And what dive location are a must see!!!!!

The east side has a bit more well developed reef, as well as a short boat ride to the north side wall.
