Diy led

Is that 1886 or 188.6? Hard to tell.

Also, what model apogee and sensor is that? The sensor that was brought to my house I thought was rather huge...do you know how large that one is approximately?

There are no decimal points in the meter, it is 1886 and it is the Apogee MQ-200 meter. Sensor is the one that they sent with the meter and its about the diameter of a nickle.

for people using C-Channel and the FEDY drivers no need to worry about heat problems. I'm running 84 LEDs of the 200 watt FEDY driver and I have zero heat issues. I tested the tempature on my C-channel and it was running between 78 and 84 degrees.

What are the dimensions of your channel, and how many LEDs are on each piece?

My experience running 80 LEDs on two pieces of 6' 2x1" channel created a continual heat build up until the channel was uncomfortable to touch and the 200W Fedy driver died. With the second 200W Fedy driver running the same LEDs I watched the output with a multimeter to verify and as the heat increased the output increased beyond the rated 5.6a

I have 30 on the 5' parts and 12 on the cross bars. 5' part is 78 and cross bars at 84 degrees

i agree probably only need 48 if going all whites. Again, my 20x20x20 cube has 20 whites and 10 RB's.

Disagree on 4 drivers...2 will work...each one with 2 strings of 12 at 700ma...thats what I'm doing on that cube.

Rapid kit is nice but back-asswards with the cover design. i chucked the box and cover and used the components....easier than trying to get all the miscellaneous stuff together.

Glad you agree on the dimming...been trying to preach to everyone that will listen.

box and cover was crap

look at my friends PAR readings 12" below the LEDs. He has a tank just a little smaller than yours with 48 LEDs. He has to run his whites like at 30% and RB at like 80% becuase corals were bleaching out.

what % were the bulbs at when testing , and u lose alot of par at water leval but defintaly better readings then halides and t5 , on my friends 180 were at 200-300 par in the middle of the tank at 500ma

those are Cree LEDs, mean well drivers, and picture was taken at Max settings, 1000ma. Picture was just to illustrate what the fixture could do, not what he runs it at normally. He has better readings than a 400w MH throughout the tank.
The tank is 30x24x24.

thats cool we were hitting the same reading on the fedys just they disapate once u hit the water

Did you get Blues or Royal Blues?

Yes you can run up to 28 of the Fedy's off the meanwell 60-48 in 2 parallel strings. SO you will be running 12 in a string, 2X each driver, 2 drivers.

I'm going to be placing an order for 18000k and RB's. Let me know if you need any. On the other hand if anyone has RB's they don't need let me know.

BMB, how many of the 18000k and RB are you looking for? I am ordering a bunch of 14000k, 18000k, and RB tue or wed. Haven't gotten shipping price yet, but I figure around $1.50 for 14 or 18. and 2.50 for RB. Anybody else that is wanting some can PM me also.
Alan

Also ordering 60 and 80 FEDY optics

alro metal plus does not have 2 x1.5 chanell. will 2W x 1H 1/8 be good enough for 16 3w cree les on a 48" chanell?
thanks

Any Left Overs to sell?

Any Left Overs to sell?

Hey gang...rather than placing an order for more than I need again I am wondering if anybody has left over new ones that they want to sell rather than let sit unused. mainly looking for 50 Royal Blues.

I need about 70 18,000k too but don't mind placing the order for 100. SInce the Royal Blues cost 2x I'm not real thrilled about ordering way more than I need.

Anybody who has some to get rid of PM me.
