Do certain Ca reactor medias stimulate HA?

Do certain medias spur HA more than others? I'm using Tropical Eden coarse that came with my Geo setup from Premium Aquatics....Are other brands better or basically the same?

I see Tropical Eden, Gen X, Caribsea ARM, Rowalith, Knop, TLF all over common sites.

What's the best? I dosed since 97 and have had the reactors in both tanks 4mos; the 90 is algae free, the 175 seems to be steady growing it now with no change in feeding, live stock, husbandry. That's why I have a Deltec SC2560 arriving tomorrow

Yes they differ, The best IMO is Reborn by Julian Sprung. The others have too much Po4 that leaches into your system , Via the effluant I think the worst is the ARM JMO

Old school trick...soak the media in ro/di water overnight, use FW PO4 test...if it reads PO4, drain the water and soak again. I used to use ARM, it was about all that was affordable. I have been using GenX Large media for about 6 years now and have had no issues from it.
