Just added my first coral about 4 hours ago. How do these look? Healthy? Also could anyone identify these zoa's? What do you guys think of the placement? 10 gal, 240 gph, parameters look good. This is my first attempt at a reef tank

Give it some times to adjust with your tank parameters. It looks okay as they are opened but not fully blown. Mind you that zoa is very unpredictable, massive mood swing. They can melt away for no apparent reason.

Mcooper73, read this and remember it well, it's Rule #1:

"Nothing good happens quickly in a marine aquarium!"

Some corals, like leathers can look crappy for days after they get moved. Take your time and be patient.

I added 2 zoa's to my tank a few weeks ago.. let me tell you.. they are sooooo moody... one day they look great, something angers them and they will look bad for a day.. They 100% have a mind of their own.

This website helped me a lot:

Running carbon in a bag is real helpful with softies: softies spit when annoyed and in a tank---closed---its like spitting into the wind.

Never realized that! I'm guessing it's some sort of toxic compound? Thank you guys for the replies
