I own a aquatec 8800 booster pump for my ro/di and i was wondering if anyone with this set up has a automiatic flush swith? do you guys recommend a auto flush switch for $50 to automatically flush before it begin topping off? It also runs for 18 secs every hour. Is this worth getting?

What is the flush action supposed to do? The flush kits I've seen don't seem to do anything useful, in the end, but this setup might be different.

the flush is supposed to flush out anything sitting in or clog your membrane out so it wont wear out quickly. this automatic system flushes the membrane for 18 seconds before each use and every hour to keep it clean

I run the same pump but dont have the auto switch. I have a manual bypass valve I just turn every so often and its good to go
Seems like flushing the unit every hr will add up to a lot of wasted water in a normal situation like most of us use our systems

+1

I have been told that the flush kits don't actually accomplish much. It'd be interesting to see some data. I just stopped using mine altogether.
