Questions:
• If I choose Profilux Plus II and the early discount for upgrading ($198) how will my upgraded unit be different in terms of aesthetics, function, and future expandability compared to an out of the box Profilux III? It looks like option 2 would save me $206. I just want to make sure that I’m not overlooking something else that I would need to add to bring a Profilux Plus II up to the full capabilities of a Profilux III or Profilux III EX.
The ProfiLux II upgraded will be identical in every shape and form other than the serial number on its bum saying ProfiLux Plus II
The ONLY thing you get extra by waiting is you will get the PAB power bar with all P3 kits, this gives you infinate plug socket chaining and the ability to monitor your ampage current levels on each port. Now take into account if you buy the Plus II kit that comes with the normal power bar, and then upgrade to a P3, you can always buy a PAB power bar when you need more plug sockets and you lose nothing.
Price difference between the bars = about $40
So to do the maths, a profiLux plus II MAPS at $599 (you will find it cheaper) and the upgrade kit is $198USD
Total = $797 max
ProfiLux P3 kit Map is $969.00
So for the sake of the PAB power bar you are saving yourself $172 at the least, but more likely with shopping around $215 max.
• Please refresh my memory on the difference between the Profilux III and the Profilux III EX.
The two are the same engine with these differences
The EX comes with onboard salinity, redox level 3 port and 1-10V interfaces totalling 6.
• How many Tunze powerheads can the Profilux control?
Plus II = 8
P3 as many as you can cram in your tank
Is the Profilux software compatabile with Apple OS's?
You require an emulator
