This is a little test for anyone with gorgonians - and that was just a hint :D. I found this guy about 3 days ago on my silver side gorgonian. I had to wait until he came around the front of it to get him - today was the day. Any guesses - he's so pretty can I keep him?

This is where he is now.

He's really cool - but he eats gorgonians! I had to take him out - I really do like him - just not with the gorgonians :D.

Ding! Ding! Ding! That didn't take long. Of course I my be wrong :D. At least I know it's in the cyphoma genus and my guess was Flamingo Tongue also. John are you out there - we need a positive ID. The coloration is wonderful - but feeds only on gorgonians.

Those are very nice pics. When I see the back of the shell it's plan, the coloration is on the flip side and that's why I was questioning. from those pics I'd say positive! Cyphoma gibbosum- AKA Flamingo Tongue (Gorgonian eater)!

Hey triggerfish1976 - have you seen these before? I love gorgonians and try to read everything about them that I can. When I found this guy I'd remembered seeing his pic - I went right to the book and sure enough.

I actually had a friend who gave me a huge Gorgonian a few years ago but it was infested with these guys. He thought they were pretty and did not think they hurt anything but I immediately knew what they were and treated to coral before I put it in the tank.

I talked to John just to make sure of the ID, I didn't want to take him out if there was any possibility we were wrong. That was a positive ID - Cyphoma gibbosum- AKA Flamingo Tongue (Gorgonian eater)!

Flamingo Tongue - 50
Nudi - 1

My grandmother is coming over, she'll make the finally ID :D. Hey don't laugh she's a doctor she should know .
