Do you see your photo stolen on this website?

I have images stolen all the time; even with credit, that is not allowable. (but these are not aquarium images)

The biggest problem I have with on line stores is they post a perfect speciman which is not what they are going to ship you. (Example Orange Tail Emp.)

This is a horrible company.

I contacted them about a L. carmabi quite some time ago. I got a response stating that since this species is found on very deep reefs in the pacific, it may take a while for them to obtain on for me. I about died laughing when I was told that. Needless to say, I will not be ordering from them!

Wow, I see a lot of images there that look similar to other websites I've visited (and by similar, I mean identical!).

Check out their "about us" page:

We started almost a decade ago on a small place in south Florida now, over the years Marine Garden not only have grown but had developed new techniques on keeping corals and Fishes as healthiest as if they were on the Ocean.
Most of our corals are 100% captive grown by ourselves or other Professional hobbyists.
By purchasing aqua cultured corals, since they use to be in captivity you are getting not only the best quality but also a stronger and harder specimen. Also, you will be helping to minimize the problem of the declining coral reefs in our oceans.
Because we own a huge aquarium facility we can offer the very best in Cultured and wild coral, for your marine and reef needs. Our facilities use as a source of lighting with different mixes of 250W and 400W Metal Halides In particularly 10.000 K XM Bulbs run by PFO Ballasts complemented with 20.000 k VHO’s. Most importantly, we use natural water right from the ocean to promote the best growth possible.

So dip in and start shopping!

Even worse grammar than I see here on RC! Who are the idiots that own this business!

Drat, I cant find any of our photos on there. It helps a lot more now that we slap the logo on every photo we put up. LOL... People still swipe ones in articles though. I'd say we follow up on 2-3 a week. People LOVE to steal the compatibility chart info. Kevin did that up eons ago, and now it's everywhere. Good info though, so hard to complain about that. At least they made their own version. :-) I hope somebody else can nail them for copyright infringement!

Didn't see any of our pix, but they can't ID their lionfish...I saw 3 mis-ID'd species...

I think I'm going to steal Readmeli's avatar!(cool pic)
I've seen some "borrowed" stuff here and there, but it would be nice to at least see a credit given, and permission beforehand.

"Unless I were a pro photographer, I'd be flattered if I did. I can't imagine caring about anything more meaningless. "

I am quite positive that copyright infringement and the like are not meaningless.

"Unless I were a pro photographer, I'd be flattered if I did. I can't imagine caring about anything more meaningless. "

I think it is more of a matter of giving credit where credit is due. Also professorial photographers sell their photos for a living and this would be out right stealing.

Well, you can count the two people I named as professional photographers. Greg wrote articles and spoke at conferences, using the photos he took. Dr. Tanaka has a book out on flasher wrasses, and writes articles on them quite frequently (including for reefkeeping.com) using his own photos. This means they are de facto being paid for these photos, which makes them professional photographers.

Even if they weren't, I don't see it as meaningless for a business to use these. Using them as an avatar or something is one thing, using them to make a profit is another.

Don't see any of my pics (unlike on the Aquacon site, they're thieves too), but I see a lot of misidentified stuff & one of the cardinals had the text for a goby LOL.
