I am starting up a 90g reef tank and jsut palced an order for the 9005.

It mentions on the site that its max is 132g.

Will this suffice. I have read mixed reviews but I know TUNZE makes excellent equipment.

If it will be used in tank on a FOWLR it is the way to go, if you will be using it in sump I would do what you can to change to a 9010. It costs just $20 more by the time you figure on the sump extension kit that the 9005 does not include but the 9010 does.

Hello!

sorry if i use the thread of messina06, but i have problem with 9005 DOC and i think it's better keep all under one same thread.
The my 9005 not working propely, mean no problem about the foam but in cup coming only water little bit dirty and the part of cup in DOC body it's dirty like sauce green and this not come in the cup!!! this matter can be because used the cooler machine and the water keep temperature at 20°, or i must turn more or less the air regulation screw, actualy turn 3 times???

Once the cup gets a film on it this film breaks the bubbles and reduces the skimmers power. This is fairly normal and most skimmers do this. Clean the cup well and try with the screw open 4 turns.

I'm back...

i clean the cup in and turn 4time the air screw .After one week the result it's mutch better but not complete good, the inside of cup still dirty less of before but still, also the cup fill up with light dirty water. It' possible that the skimmer not work at 100% due temperature, i have tank with chiller and keep at 20°. My tank it's Mediterranean, the position of Skimmer it's in sump the temperature there it's 21 max 22°...

I will send you a PM witha good contact person. Claude Hug of Tunze France may know a better way, plus he knows Italian. He is one of the main design engineers so he is the most knowledgable about how the temperature will affect the performance.
