Does any worm spin a web? I'm lost

I just put in a kenya tree today and there was a tube on the rock that I thought was empty. It is like 1-1.5 inches long. Now there is something in it that is putting out fibers onto the coral and catching debris in it and sucking into its mouth. its cool, but what the heck is it and is it harmful? I have a bunch of flatworms I wouldn't mind disappearing

even though there are no feathers? is it bad if the strands attach to the coral?

Sounds a lot like a Vermetid Snail. They extend their 'web' during feeding. I've never had one hurt any of my corals. It's fun to watch them.

Spits out a net like cobwebs? Has a hard tube it resides in? Then yep Vermetid snail.

HEY, this is great. I got one of these on a shell in some ref rock and always thought it was a duster (got a bunch of those as well) but it never got its feathers. Now I know.

I just read they multiply fairly quickly? I used to have one for over a year and it was the only one i had. I thought he was cool!

I have them in my tank, but not as big as mattypw says his is. Do they get an inch to an inch and a half big. The size is why I was thinking feather duster.

I had a large diameter one about 1-1.5 inches tall that was the only one in my tank for years. He was kinda cool.

Then I got the small kind and they spread everywhere. Total PITA.

they are actually a verry good indicator of a healthy reef, they dont hurt corals it is possible that the feeding webs may iritate corals. I have many of theese snails in my sump and fuge but only a few in the display, perhaps one or several of my fish think they taste good.
