Hey everyone,

In my daily hunt for new sellers of zoanthids found this place last night and my jaw hit the floor. Are these prices for real? $15 dollars per polyp head. Isn't this a litte steep.

Check this link out.

Yea thats a real price....I have bought some stuff from there, Rommel is a top notch guy.....

Agreed!

I have zoanthid that doesn't go for less then $50 a head....I guarantee you won't find more then 15 people in the country that have it.

Wow, they've got some stuff there you seriously don't see many places. The prices are high because just like collectors of anything else, collectors of zoas will pay for the rare, good quality stuff.

Azurel, you're reminding me of beanie babies. "I have a Garcia bear, and mine is special cuz only 20 were released with a flower on the butt".

Giggle....the thing about zoas is they grow, they multiply. Whats hot and expensive now will be common place at some point I guess. But for now, I'm one of the wack jobs that will pay that much because I want it now. :)

I guess I'm one of those wacked job's too reef wifey I pay it also if i want it. Rommel is a really cool guy. now if i can just get afew of those big paly's you have reefwifey:D big grin

Rommel goes above and beyond any service I have ever recieved. Not only were 90 percent of what I recieved an amazing site... I also got some freebies that blew away what I actually paid for :)!

Well,
I remember those crazy dang bears.....You do see some stuff on there that is truly unique and rare with in the hobby itself, and to collectors of zoanthids. Rare in nature and rare(lack of circulation) in the hobby is like apples to Oranges. I would say one of the closest things you can get to those bears right now is the Purple Deaths....That is even less circulated then PPEs.....I wouldn't hesitate to get stuff from there one second....But that's just me.

you cant BRAG if we cant see any pics?
So show us what $50 per polyp would get us!!

I've got some awsome zoas that most don't have as no one as seen these before. Got them from a fellow Rc member who was getting rid of his zoa.s I've sold about 10 10 poylop frags of them for a buck a poylop. But that's all I charge for any of my zoa's. The high prices are just rediculas I think.

Also I'd rather trade frags than sell them. The zoa's that i have are similar to the ruby reds. you can see a pic of mine in there. I call mine metallic reds as they have more of a metaiilc look to them than the ruby reds. ;)

As for the pic you posted, I've got them both. Paid 30 bucks for a rock of about 100 poylops of the blue centered ones. Got the others in a trade with a local club member. ;)

Azurel,
Looked thru your gallery. I've got just about all of the zoa's you have in there and I payed less than 50 bucks for a rock full of them or got them in a even trade 1 for 1. ;)

Why do you people want to support those who price gouge you on the zoas? I've been to a wholesalers warehouse, they charge the same price for every rock of zoa's they sell, color dosen't matter. 10 bucks a rock. The same ones you guys are paying 10 bucks a polyop for. The collectors that pick them are getting even way less. Your just perpetuating the price gouging.

blown63chevy - We have to do some zoa trading!

I also agree with you I dont care what color they are they are still a zoa....I cant pay these ridiculous prices as I would have to slap myself if I did

It's not that far of a trip. :D I'm actually riding up to the bay area this weekend for my wifes cousins graduation from Sac State. I've also driven up to Frisco and back in one day just to pick up a hood for my '63. ;) We drive up to Vallejo all the time 'cus her family is all up there. ;)

priorities man, priorites!

I didn't say I charge that much, just that how much they go for because of the limited circulation and it wasnt bragging really just pointing out that somethings can cost more because they haven't been passed around are are in limited suppy......It wasn't in my gallery Blown63chevy, these never came through a wholesaler's warehouse. It was by chance they came in a rock of another coral that the person I traded with bought. It's not the best pic just the best pic I have right now....Purple with black skirts....

Whats so special about those? Ive seen them locally before for cheap other reefers

You lie.

Azurel,
yes those do look nice. As for the wholesalers, I've only gotten a few from them but have seen a ton of the higer priced ones in their tanks for 10 bucks a rock. I didn't get them because I already had them.

Some of my best finds were as hitchickers on LR or other corals I had bought. Some I got from people tearing down their tanks and just trying to clear out ther stuff. I've also gotten some nice stuff in thermos trades here on RC. Some I've found at the LFS BEFORE the Zoa frenzy that has driven up prices. So they can be found for cheap, you just have to look around. ;)
