Does this still count as a nano?-- 40gal breeder inwall

well here is an update, I dont think it will be an inwall anymore, but Im still upgrading, my dad and I are going to build a stand.

You may want to add another short baffle on the right side of your 'fuge. It will keep live rock, sand etc. from clogging the outlet from the skimmer compartment.

ok, but I have a question for you, would that slow down flow through the sump, does the number of baffles matter? They are about 1in apart.

No it won't slow down the flow. The flow is determined by the return pump.

Alternatively you could just move the baffle from the far end of the return section to the left side of the 'fuge. That way you'd have baffles that reach the bottom on both sides of the 'fuge but no more total baffles than originally.

You could also just put in a short baffle of a few inches to simply hold the sand and run the water level well above the top of the added baffle. Does that make sense?

yes that makes perfect sence, I will add a like 5inch baffle or so, then I can have like a 2-3in sand bed, along with LR and cheato.
Thanks for the help!

40 breeder is an awesome tank. I had one and only ran a single halide bulb and two 96W PC'S. I would have been happier with two 150W bulbs though. Due to the shallow depth I think you can get away with a 150W instead.

Well it is going to be a SE 250W 20K bulb, and I think i am going to off set it to the side with most of the SPS.
Update:
Working on the stand today, hopefully finish it, Ill try to get some new pics, then put plywood and trim on tomarrow, also the halides come tomarrow.

pat, plywood is hard to put on, hard to get a straight cut, you will need to put moldign all aound to hide some gaps, trust me

we got the back, and one side done today, idk when well finish it!

mike, I think we have that covered, my dad has a table saw and a miter box saw. and we can get really nice cuts
Another update:
We finished the stand today, also put resesed holes for 4 wheels, each has a weight limit of 250 lbs. We also bought some more wood, and figured out all measurements.
We are using birch plywood for the sides and doors, and pine for the front because then you will see the good sides of the pine and not the plywood. Also the halides came today, but they will just be sitting in my room for a while.
Here is a pic, to support the tank, on the vertical 2x4's we used biscuts and gorrila glue, which is the same thing we did on my brothers 75.
