I've only done TTM once and it did seem stressful to the fish, I had them for over a year before doing it. but they are clowns and thus fairly tough.. so... I'm not sure how some people are doing it with more delicate species...[/QUOTE]
I ended up with ick in a 150 gallon tank I was setting up. I took the few fish I had in it out and started tank transfer method. At the end of TTM my fish still had ick. So I did another round of TTM. I was at 72 hours each and every time. I know a little bit about sterile technique as I am an operating room nurse. I still have ick after the second round. On January 5 I started TTM again with only a leopard wrasse left. I decided to do two transfers. I will continue this until the end of January. My wrasse is doing very well. I actually thought I would lose him as I thought he was a very delicate nature. He has proven to be very tough. I don't know why TTM didn't work The first two times, but I hope it works this time. I just set up a quarantine tank for future arrivals. I also have set up a small 10 gallon tank for the leopard wrasse. I will observe closely. I am going to go at least 80 days Paulo in my 150 gallon tank. If anyone has any ideas about what else I could do please call me. Also, I should mention that I am using 3 five gallon bucket's for my current TTM. This gives each bucket four days to dry after I clean it.
