Okay, been cleaning up the area behind the display and making room for the big skimmer. I couldn't be more pleased with this beast.. And now for some pictures of the beginning stages of the skimming.

tang feeding show was mint. i thought tangs didnt like each other. i must be reading the wrong things

No, you're reading the right things. But 300 gallons is more forgiving than most people's tanks.

Although 15 adult tangs may be a different story. As they grow, some of these tangs may need to be relocated in order to keep the peace.

Great looking tank. I'm tagging along. I'm maybe a few weeks behind you in my 300DD build. I also modified the overflows to a double center 1-1/2" drains and 1" returns. Also with starphire glass. One question, I noticed your tank came with the standard plastic frame bottom( as did mine) why did you put styrofoam under the tank? Is that recommended with these tanks?

Looks like you've been busy.

You happy with the performance?
Oh yes Lynn, I am happy with the performance. Very impressive.

Time will tell. So far things running smoothly.

Glad to see you in DD club. Wonderful tanks. Do you have a thread started on your 300DD build? Don't know if the styrofoam is recommended or not. But I have always done these to my tanks and know many others that have.

are they still getting along these two?????

Amazing.

I have some friends locally that have it and really like all the options and capabilities it has to offer. Pretty much will do anything you would need.

How do you like your Lumenmax Elites over your display? How high do you have them from the water surface? Thinking about trying the reflectors over my new tank 72x36x24 instead of Lumen Brights.

Getting ready for the big tank move this coming Saturday. So I am getting the CL materials together. Intake strainer 1.5" and 3/4" flow accelerators.

How are you liking these accelerators? I am trying to decide whether to use the flared square ones or the ones you are using. do they really work? Also I have a 3/4" return on my tank from my pump and its just exiting from the spa flex tube right now. What would I need to use these accelerators? I know I'll need one 90 degree elbow to go over the lip of the tank but I want to turn my one return into two. So i'll have to use some type of something there. What should I do? What do I need? first time I've done this...can you tell?

Thanks for visiting. I really do like these lumenmax reflectors alot. I had the lumen brights on my old 156 and they were really nice but I do like these elites now that I have something to compare them to.

Yes, these accelerators I have are wonderful... I run from 1.5" and then tee off to 2 1" main inlets to the tank. Then I run 3 accelerators of main inlet to the supply. First of all what pump are you using and how much gph is it rated? Depends on your pipe size from your pump and how the pump is rated as to how many accelerators you can run. Maybe I missed it but what size is your tank? Ask away if you have more questions. I will do my best to let you know what worked for my setup.
