DowFlake

Hi Guys,

I was reading this DIY 2 Part Ca + Alk additive system - http://www.advancedaquarist.com/issues/april2004/chem.htm - and I would like to try it. The author got some Dowflake from HD but I went there today and they have none.

Does anyone know of a local source for Dowflake?

I'm also trying it...in the testing stage w/ the dosing schedule. Seems good so far and using much less than the Bi Ionic 2 part to maintain stable Alk and CA.

Using homemade RHF 3 part mix

I'm dosing 70ml of Alk (non bake) per day to keep it at 9.0
and dosing 50ml per day of CA to keep it at 420ish
and 100ml per WEEK of MG to keep it at 1400

Main inhabitants consumers of above, my SPS, and 2 clams

i can get 50 lb bags of dowflakes for $20.00 if ur interested in that large of a quantity. dont have the time or patients to sell per lb.

How big is your tank? Do you use Epsom salt for your Mg ?

$20 for a 50lb bag sounds good. How soon can I get it?

Yes there is SOME Epsom salt for the MG but it's also got Mag Chloride..
