Recently have been dealing with the plumming. My god it was hard work!!!! 4'' pipes are not easy manage. however looks good when finished. Few photos to look at and more to come!

Filling the tank in few days and satarting the rotation. However still waiting for my new main pumps! Hopefully will be done by the end of this month!

good idea. I put in a clear 1-way valve just above my return pump, not so much for the water control, but to see the flow rate as well.

You can see it below to the right side in an early picture while my system was under construction.

My I ask why there are 4 exits in the piping on the picture above????

Actually there are 8. This is my return manifold and it feeds my display, refugium, and reactors... I drive my entire return system off one Hammerhead pump.

The 4 1" lines going down are for returns to the tank, the one coming off the top right goes to my refugium which oveflows into my display tank, the two ball valves facing down are used for reactors, and the ball valve off the left end is for future expansion. Behind is one of the 2" overflows from the display going to the sump.

I don't want to derail your thread with pictures of my own system as that will confuse your readers, but you can click on the Red House in my post to see all sorts of pictures of my system and how I built it. There are plenty of tank room pictures taken during construction and throughout the last year.

Hi to all. again. It is been a long time since last message but have been quite busy with the work.

Unfortunetely I had some problems with the braces and had to replan my step more carefully. After filling it up one of the braces did crack!!!

So I managed to re do the braces setting, with doubling the glass thickness and adding few more extra bits for support.

I have also managed to setup a website as a reminder of all the steps I took. It is very simple at the moment and currently in Turkish and English. (some parts are yet to be translated) by looking at the pics you will be able to understand anyways!

Hopefull by the end of the month The site will be on full english as well. Hoping to update the gallery as well.

Quarantine & Frag Tanks

Good to see you post. The display tank looks a lot like a Deltec now! :) I really admire your QT and frag tank install. That is a superb bit of work.

So now with the new bracing, how much bowing are you getting in the tank panels?

The viewing side is really nice and clean looking too. Who is that pictured above the tank?

Your web site is impressive. Very good job!

Thanx. I have not yet filled the tank. I am going to finish off the flowboxes and the going to fill it up. Some more plumbing to do. According to my calculations the bowing will be no more than 2-3 mm max.

Before it was 1.5 cm. Too much to say. I worked on the QT today. Finishing the plumbing. Hopefully will buy some live rock and start the curing process. The QT will be good test with natural seawater and how the creatures react to it.

NB. The Picture is Mustafa Kemal Atatürk. The Leader of All Turks.

Anyway more photos as soon as I start the curing process.

Wow! Talk about an excuse to stay late at the office!!!:)

That's an incredible set-up you have going.

Did I miss the question or had someone already asked what your stocking plans were?

Congrats on a great tank.

Looking good..I have been wondering when your thread was going to come back to life. Your web site look to be off to a great start.

What type of wood did you use to frame the face of the tank? That's exactly how I want mine to look.

Also, are you using bulkheads or uniseals? They look very minimalistic.

Looking good. Keep it up.

Hi there again everyone.

My plans are to make a reef aquariım that will run mostly self sufficient. I will try to use all possible technology to make sure I spend minimal time behind the scenes and most of the time in front where I get to watch. I will be Using NATURAL SEAWATER. and see how it goes!

The rock will be from bali + fiji + marshall mixed to give the best possible shapes. Also I thought of reef ceramics but not a good idea as Noboby has ever tried in this country! And sometimes ıt may look unnatural too.

The Reason Why the office and not home is that I spend up to 16 hours at work and only few hours at home if you take out the sleep part! So I will get to watch more this way!

The frame was a pain in the back side. It is made from Membraned Compressed fiberboard. I do not know the exact translation but here we call it Membraned MDF.(Water resistant to great extend) Now the important thing about the frame is that you must be certain of the water level before putting it. I was certain and the brace cracked and now the gap is shortened by using the double amount of braces so now I will propably take the frame out and shorten the sides 1-2 cm and re put it. But it looks great as it hides all the uncessary nasty looking silicone joints and bits and pieces. Make sure the aquarium is straight with the wall otherwise uncessary gaps will occur and will make you go mad.

I will put on more on the frame pictures from the back and front so that you get a better pictrure.

No problem. In other words, what are you using to make a water tight seal where your pipes go through the glass? Here in the US, we use either BULKHEADS or UNISEALS. Whatever you are using looks very simple and clean. Does that description help?

I understand now what you mean. Maybe It is joke to you but here we cannot find these material.here with ease especially in 4 inches or 110 mm. So what I did was to order 110 mm glass cutter I can say to punch these holes. Then Fitted a PVC pipe right though it. Then Just added black silicone in between the glass and the pipe on the outer side. About half a tube in each side. Squeezed it pipe and the 90 degree elbow. and here it is. Non leaking gasket!!

Wow the bigger you go. everything goes up. I have been using one tube of silicone for a month. 4 inch pipe is sweet. Way ack in the day I Made 4 inch downpipe for one of my turbo cars. I loved it. Your tank must really blow people away seeing it up close. Thanks for sharrin and keep the pics coming.. hehhehee
