Dream fish

We dont use copper period unless needed in a seperate tank, wild caught clams do NOT die slowly as our 17yr squamosa is wild and happy as can be. ALL i care about is profit? one you dont know me and two we are the only store that has a warenty on ALL of our fish AND coral in alberta and tell people All the time they cant buy a fish because their tank isnt suitable. What you are saying is straight up WRONG and your assumptions are childish

the BIGGEST problem is people giving out clearly wrong information that goes against EVERYTHING else out there on the subject. We dont add chemicals or any of the other bull you are spouting off, have been in operation for 19 yrs as a storefront.

I will post plenty of pic to show it off. Oh by the way they only cost $100 you guys are paying too much

Experience and expertise are not the same thing - though they may be highly correlated. I know a few folks who have been in the hobby for a long time that I'd not view as particularly knowledgable; conversely there are others that offer good advice after just a few years. When folks feel the need to tout their longevity in the hobby, I'm immediately suspicious. Fortunately bad advice is usually self evident.

Oh, and for what it's worth, fish wholesalers and stores run lower salinity systems mainly to save money on salt. I would have though somebody with experience would know that running to 1.017 is insufficient to affect ich.

your getting achilles from hawaii for $100 and no qt? Good luck with that. Doesnt change the fact most things you have stated are clearly FALSE.troll feeding is over for the day, enjoy your fish

You can try to cut nori into flake food size pieces. I have certain tangs that will never graze from a rubber band but will eat nori if I cut it to bite size pieces and feed it like flake food.

If that doesnt work and you really want to feed some algae, try hikari spirulina enriched brine shrimp or even some high quantity flakes/pellets made with algae.

@jazeel

I don't have any where near 20 years in the hobby and I KNOW you should QT. What's that say about someone who does have 20 years[emoji848] slow learner maybe?

You say ich is stressed induced... you don't think shipping is stressful ? So in your eyes the line gets drawn at the TTM everything else that happens prior to arriving at your door is not stressful enough for ich to show it's face.

What a theory 🤦*♂️.

Even if you are right (which you aren't) you owe it to your other healthy fish to QT every single new arrival just in case.

Got mine for $40 less than that, you think you're the only one who can access a wholesaler or better yet a diver? Pretty petty stuff, and great way to make friends here on RC :debi:

I was never able to get any of my tangs to eat seaweed while in qt. Also it gets the qt really messy and dirty super fast.
Just offer what the fish eats and add some zoe or selcon to it.
Personally I qt anything wet that goes into my tank. there are some people who have had success not doing any type of qt, but I think those people are in the minority. I tried that 10 years ago and failed miserably and lost all my beloved livestock within 3 days. Never again.
Everyone has their own opinion on the qt topic, but in my personal opinion not qt is like playing Russian Roulette.
