drilling tank

I've got a 75G Perfecto tank that is pre-drilled with the corner-flo setup. I'm wanting to introduce a closed loop system and I would prefer everything come in from the bottom of the tank. Does anyone know if the bottom glass has been tempered after the initial drilling?

Does anyone here have any experience drilling their own tanks and would be willing to help me out? I would be more than willing to pay for the bit or whatever, just don't know that I've got the confidence to try it by myself.

If the bottom has been drilled already it's not tempered and you can have at it.

I'd be happy to drill it for you; but I doubt you want to drive up to Cedar Lake to have it done...

Call the Perfecto plant in Noblesville. Tell them what you have and they will tell you if the tank has been tempered or not.

Usually they temper the bottom after they drill it.

I agree. Odds are it has a tempered bottom. It is very rare these days for "off the shelf" tanks to be made with plate glass on the bottom.

You should be able to drill through the back though.

I emailed Perfecto and asked about the tank. According to the person that replied back the 75g corner-flo tanks are not tempered on the bottom, but drilling it would void the warranty.

I can't express how difficult this is for me. hehe! I want to set this tank up soooo bad, but I want to get it drilled first, but I too big of a pansy to try it myself, ughh!
