drummereef's 180g in-wall build

sheesh...you set the bar so damn high.... This thread is why I joined RC a couple years ago... Think how many people have been inspired by your work. How much money has been inspired out of wallets thanks to you? Great, great work.

I'm totally going to waste a crap load of money replacing wireing and plumbing now thanks to you...

Plus my GF said if I can make our system look like that I can build anything I want... That bar is way to high!!

Thanks summitwynds! :)

If my tank were 1/2 as organized id be in heaven, do you make house calls.

Haha. Next house call is cleaning the cat box. LOL :D

Amazing work Brett! Where do the cords go once you route them into the wall?

Thank you Justin! :) I will post up a pic today of the wiring behind the wall.

Beautifully clean. I love it. You and Dennis are are total inspiration.

I appreciate that Saltydrip. :)

You realize if my wife saw that I can keep aquarium stuff that clean it would give her ideas about other stuff around the house, right? Amazing man, like a work of art.

Hahaha Brett! See, I'm afraid if I don't keep my sump room clean she'll throw the :hammer: down. LOL

Well that's it then.I was going to ask you to look at my sump room progress but now...Wow!

LOL! I'd love to see your sump room progress! Thanks fishcatdog. :)

God's in the details. Impeccable finishing touches!!

Thank you Ricky. :)

Darn you Brett!!!! That's just... how the heck... GAHHHHH!!!!!

HAHAHAHA! :D

UPDATE:

OK guys, here's the pics of the back side of the Electric Panel wall showing how I routed the cables. The wall is adjacent to my HVAC system so it's a little tight to get good pictures but hopefully you can see what's there. The wires are tucked back between the main return duct that feeds my HVAC system and the sump room wall. It's basically an unusable area so it was perfect for hiding cables! :D Here's what it looks like.

From the front of the HVAC.

From the back of the HVAC. I used more Techflex F6 Split Loom sleeving to organize as much of the cabling as possible.

The gray wires are coming out of the Apex EB8 modules. The blue junction box was added to make the transition for the return pump outlet easier to route to the EB8. I ran Romex from the return pump outlet to the junction box and transitioned to THHN to make the return back to the EB8.

These are the wires that lead back to the Galaxy Ballasts, LED Panel, and the Apex Modules. I used the same grommets to support the wiring coming through the back of the drywall.

I also picked up a few new corals this weekend.

Meteor Shower, Blue Goniopora?, Red Goniopora.

Frogspawn, to feed my Euphyllia addiction.

I've never been a real Acan guy but these looked nice so I picked up a small frag.

Is there a Stony skeleton under those blues? They look like Zoanthids to me but a bit hard to tell in a small frag.:hmm5:

I don't think I've even seen a blue Goniopora. Alveopora, yes but Goniopora. If it really is Goniopora it is an awesome one. Does it Fluoresce under blues?

It could very well be. It's a lot more blue than the pics on Live Aquaria. I'll look tonight and see how much it fluoresces under the RB's.

I know I'm on the late freight but I had to comment on your electrical panel rebuild. Clean...really...clean!!! I don't know what you do for a living but based on what I see you could quit your day job. I would pay you to fix my mess LOL.

As always, very impressive Brett.

Easy to tell if it's a goniopora or alveopora. Goni's have 24 tentacles/polyp and alveo's have 12/polyp. Either way, very pretty. There's a couple of great articles written by justin Credabel about the care of gonioporas. Here's one - http://reefkeeping.com/issues/2005-10/nftt/index.php

Your set up is truly a masterpiece Brett! Well done sir!

Ha! This thread is the slow train to Reefville, so latecomers are always welcome. Thanks Rotknee. :)

Nicely done!!

Thank you Jared. :)
