First I'll give you some pics of the final plumbing stage.

All in all it went rather smooth. There were a couple of minor leaks. One from the sump suction side bulkhead. Had to gently apply some torque from the channel locks and give it a little turn. None of the pvc leaks nor the main bulkheads under the display. I am leaking a little from the seal in the Dart. Gave Reeflo a call this morning and they are sending a new seal out asap. They said it was probably from getting bumped around in shipping. Might need a little help with this on once I get the seal in. ;)

Other than that I'm going to let it run for a couple days and see what pops up. Cross my fingers everything is good. I have a few pieces of locline coming from Savco as well to tidy up the return outlets.

Question... The tank came with a Y connector for the locline. Is it better to use the Y with two 3/4" outlets or just use a male adapter and one 3/4" outlet on either side?

That looks great, Brett... Regarding the seal replacement, I made a page about how I changed mine and now Reeflo points people to that page when they need to repair their pumps. (Hopefully by the time you get the seals, my hosting company will be back to business. Not only my site is down, so is theirs!)

The two drains into the bubble trap are submerged quite a bit. If those aren't glued, I would shorten them to avoid air being trapped that will burp out, even with those angled cuts.

Microbubbles in saltwater travel much more due to a different surface tension in the water, so in your freshwater test the bubble trap looks clear. With saltwater you may see some, but I think your sump should be able to handle those without a problem.

Four loclines instead of two - that's really your choice. The reason is probably to avoid dead spots or surface 'slicks.'

Great Marc, I will definitely check out that link once your site is back up. Is it safe to run the tank for a couple days until it comes in? It's only a tiny bit of leakage at this point. They said there is an adhesive I should use to seat the seal? What did you use?

OK, I didn't glue the drains under the bulkheads in the sump for this reason. How far would you submerge them, 2-3 inches?

Gotcha on the locline... I'll probably use the four then since that's what I bought anyhow. :D

I didn't have to use any adhesive, but I did use some silicone grease on the large O-ring. If they are using an adhesive now, that's news to me. Running it now won't hurt anything. The new part replaces what you have now, so go for it.

I like to submerge the pump a maximum of 1" to avoid burping. Since you have the angled cut, I'd put the top of that angle at 1" and let the other tip hang lower.

If you don't like the locline later, you can always change it out.

Wow Brett, looks great.

Thank you gradth! It's been a long road to get to this point and I've still got a ways to go. Loving every minute of it though. :)

Have you reassured your wife that with saltwater it will be much quieter? With my PC's surround sound and bass, it seems pretty loud at the moment. ;)

Got it. :) The angle on the drains was really a knock -off of Nanooks sump. Don't really know if it serves a purpose but it looks cool. :D I will cut them back for sure. ;)

 She's fine with it so far.... knock on wood. It's actually not bad. I was messing around with my vortechs last night and they were louder than the tank. If I can find my db meter I'll test the volume. I think it is exaggerated because I recorded the video with my point and shoot camera. :)

p.s. a standing wave on my 6 footer is pretty sweet. :D I saved the settings so I'll have to post a vid of that too.

Yeah I know the feeling. I have kinda hit a wall as of late. Got a lot to do, just no time to do it. Fish seem happy, my few polyps are thriving. Just trying to work things out when I have time. Of course I cant compare to your endeavor, but I get the jist of it.

Looks awesome!! I have some black sealant from when I replaced my seal and I can help you with the project if you need it...been there and done that a couple times now.
