DSB substrate

I'm adding a DSB to my fuge under my tank and I'm not 100% sure if the sand I got will work. It's Aragonite with larger size grains bigger than sugar. They're about 1/16 of an inch on average or so. This stuff cost a lot and I'd hate to think I just wasted my money. Its CaribSea Aragonite

That what I use for the substrate over the plenum. It's recommended for plenums and DSB's so it should be fine for an external DSB.

I would think that you should be ok but I know that the sugar fine sand is the best.
